Q. Is it illegal or unsafe to drive with a cracked windshield?

YES. Besides obscuring your vision, it is illegal in California to drive with a broken windshield and you can be ticketed.

Q. Can my windshield be repaired or do I need to replace it?

Windshield damage should be fixed as soon as possible. Most 'dings' or 'chips' can be repaired if the damage is not in the driver's line of vision and is smaller than the size of a silver dollar, including any cracks. If the break is larger than the silver dollar, or in the driver's line of vision, replacement is recommended. ALL STAR GLASS provides both services for your convenience.

Q. When is it safe to drive once my windshield has been replaced?

ALL STAR GLASS uses a premium, fast acting adhesive that exceeds Federal Crash Safety requirements and the drive away time is one hour after the installation. Most other glass companies use a product that can take days to meet that standard.

Q. What does my quote include?

Your quote includes the cost of the glass, installation and warranty. Local and state taxes may apply. The quote is an estimate until confirmed by our scheduling staff. Your auto glass may have options (tint, heat, rain sensor, etc.) that could affect the final price. We offer FREE MOBILE SERVICE and clean up, as well as disposal of the windshield at no extra charge.

Q. How long will my repair or replacement take?

In many cases, windshield repairs can be performed in 45 minutes. Windshield replacements will often take 90 minutes or less, however, we recommend that you do not drive the vehicle for at least one half hour after service is completed.

Q. What are your store hours?

While hours vary according to location, appointments are available in most areas from 8:00 A.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 A.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Our call center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for scheduling.

Q. Do you offer mobile service?

For your convenience, we offer FREE MOBILE SERVICE. We will come to your home, office or wherever your travels take you in most cases.

Q. Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

YES, we offer a national warranty on our work and craftsmanship that is good for as long as you own or lease your vehicle.   The glass manufacturer warrants the auto glass product/part for any defects for one year.

Q. Does the warranty carry over to other locations?

Yes, the national warranty applies at any ALL STAR GLASS location.

Q. How soon can I wash my vehicle?

The urethane used to install your new windshield has a one half hour safe drive away time.  Your vehicle can be washed 8 hours after the windshield is installed.
